All smiles: Carlos Tevez and Roberto Mancini with the Barclays Premier League trophy
London, Jul 13: Tottenham have finally signed Emmanuel Adebayor in a permanent deal from Manchester City. The striker, who was at loan at White Hart Lane last season, has sealed a £6million move.

The 28-year old striker, who was on a £160,000-a-week package at City, is set to become Spurs' highest-paid player. However, the Togo international has to settle with a pay-cut of around £100,000-a-week including a huge sum on signing after impressing with 17 goals in 33 appearances.

The former Arsenal striker, who joined City for £25m in 2009, had loan spells with Real Madrid after the sacking of then City boss Mark Hughes. Roberto Mancini's reign saw the likes of Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli forcing Adebayor to join Spurs last season.

Meanwhile, Carlos Tevez has admitted he is finally feeling settled at Manchester City as the 28-year old striker now targets Champions League glory with City.

At the start of the last season, Tevez was set to leave Eastlands after a bust up with boss Roberto Mancini. The former captain had refused to warm-up in a Champions League clash against Bayern Munich last September, which led to Tevez's departure to Argentina.

"I have lots of different targets. I think that now I feel settled at the club and feel good in myself and am working hard, the main aim of every one of the players is to have as good a league campaign as possible and try to be champions again and also to get as far as we can in the Champions League," Tevez was quoted as saying in City's official website.
