
Bengaluru, January 25: Manchester United have been handed a huge boost according to reports, injured defender Eric Bailly sees the Champions League fixture against Spanish side Sevilla as his comeback game.
The former Villareal defender suffered an injury while on international duty with Ivory Coast back in November and had to under go surgery to fix the issue which eventually ruled him out for nearly three months.
However, the 23-year-old has now returned to light training as per reports and he himself revealed the situation via Instagram where he posted: "Following a good training session to keep progressing with the recovery. Happy Sunday."
This has excited the fans and as per reports, United's medical staff are also increasingly positive that the defender will be available for United's Champions League round-of-16 first leg against Sevilla on February 21.
Bailly last played in United's 1-0 defeat away to Chelsea on November 5.
Bailly was one of Mourinho's first signings at Old Trafford and since his inclusion, the Ivory Coast player has become a key man in his defence with a number of excellent displays at the back during these 18 months.
Also, Bailly's return is important for another United player, Axel Tuanzebe.
The 20-year-old Manchester United youngster got his first call-up two years ago by then manager Louis Van Gaal as a squad player.
The youngster has been training with the Red Devils' first-team squad since then but has only made three appearances this season.
Thus Mourinho suggested that he wants the player to have more game time and wants to send him on loan in the January window however only if Bailly's makes an early return.
And with Bailly expected back in full training with his teammates next month the youngster could be now sent on a loan move.
Reportedly, Championship side Aston Villa lead the race for the youngster and manager Steve Bruce allegedly has already held talks regarding the loan deal.
