In the first semi-final of Euro 2024, two former champions Spain and France will face each other at Munich Football Arena (Allianz Arena) in Munich, Germany on Tuesday (July 9).
Spain is the only team in this Euro that has won all five matches so far. They are joint-top in terms of goals (11) and total attempts (102). France, on the other side, reached the semifinals for the first time without scoring an open-play goal.

France has scored only three goals so far in this Euro, two of which were deflections and one from a penalty. Despite the below-par attacking statistics, Les Bleus put up a solid defensive display, keeping four clean sheets in five games.
A similar lacklustre display by the French forwards including Kylian Mbappe could hamper the expectation of an enthralling encounter. Among this plethora of misfired attempts on goal, defence of the both teams is shown their resolutes in the crucial moments.
Due to suspension, both Robin Le Normand and seasoned right-back Daniel Carvajal will miss the match. Pedri suffered a ligament injury against Germany and had to be forced off the field as well. After the outstanding performance in the last game, Dani Olmo should be the obvious choice to replace Pedri in the midfield, while Nacho and Navas are the anticipated replacements in defence.
France will not miss any of the players. Adrien Rabiot could be back in the team or Camavinga can be continued in that position. Mbappe's nose injury forced him off the pitch before the penalty shootout against Portugal and this is the only concern for Didier Deschamps. Since the Real Madrid player hasn't scored in open play at Euro 2024, his form will also be a problem.
