Etihad Airways has entered into a multi-year agreement to become the Official Front of Shirt Sponsor for Mumbai City FC, starting from the 2024-25 season.
This partnership underscores Etihad's dedication to the Indian market and highlights Mumbai City's status as a leading professional sports team in India, having secured two Indian Super League titles and two Indian Super League Cups.

The collaboration coincides with Etihad celebrating two decades of operations in India. The airline's logo will be prominently displayed on the match shirts and training kits of both the first and youth teams of Mumbai City FC from the 2024-25 season onwards. This deal is notable for its duration, setting a record in Indian football.
The partnership strengthens the long-standing ties between the home countries of both organisations and emphasises their shared values of teamwork and excellence. Both entities aim to unite people and inspire ambition through their collaboration.
Kandarp Chandra, CEO of Mumbai City FC, expressed his enthusiasm: "We are incredibly happy to bring Etihad on board as our Official Front of Shirt Sponsor. Their endorsement is a testament to the brand of football Mumbai City plays - one that is committed to performance and the pursuit of excellence on and off the field. Both Etihad and Mumbai City are proud to represent resilient global cities that balance tradition with modernity."
Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, remarked: "We strive to enrich our presence in the Indian market through relevant and meaningful partnerships, and we're thrilled to welcome Mumbai City FC to the Etihad family.
"India continues to be a strategically important market for Etihad and we remain committed to serving the Indian community with convenient connections from 11 destinations across India to the Middle East, Europe and North America."
Etihad will mark its 20th anniversary of flying to India this month. Starting from 1 September, Etihad's A380 will operate between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi for four months, showcasing its commitment to growth in India. Passengers will have an opportunity to experience this iconic aircraft on this popular route.
The airline serves 11 destinations across India, including four daily flights to Mumbai, providing seamless connections to Abu Dhabi and beyond. In total, Etihad operates 175 flights per week between Abu Dhabi and various Indian cities.
"Through our partnership with Mumbai City FC," continued Neves, "we hope to bring joy to the football-loving community across Mumbai."
This collaboration not only enhances Etihad's visibility in India but also aligns with its goal of fostering meaningful connections within key markets. The partnership is set to benefit both parties by leveraging their strengths in sports and aviation.
