England coach Gareth Southgate is likely to make a significant decision for England's starting lineup against Switzerland in the Euro 2024 quarterfinal match.

The Three Lions continue their Euro 2024 campaign on Saturday evening, and Southgate has opted to retain Newcastle captain Kieran Trippier in his new back five. Despite injury concerns and recent poor performances, Trippier will shift to right wing-back, meaning Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss out on the starting eleven.

England's Defensive Setup

For Saturday's match, Southgate will employ a back five. According to The Sun, Ezri Konsa will replace the suspended Marc Guehi. The Crystal Palace defender received a booking against Slovakia due to a pass from Trippier and is now banned for the quarter-finals. Konsa will join Manchester City's John Stones and Kyle Walker in defence, with Walker expected to start as the right centre-back.

Luke Shaw was declared "available to start" against Switzerland. However, if he plays, it will likely be from the bench as Southgate has chosen Bukayo Saka for the left wing-back position, who played the same role in the Round of 16 match against Slovakia.

Midfield and Attack

In midfield, Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, and Kobbie Mainoo have all kept their places. Up front, Harry Kane will lead England's attack. The Three Lions are among the favourites to win Euro 2024 this summer.
