Euro 2024 round of 16 matches begin on Saturday. In the second match of the day, Group A toppers, Germany are set to face Group C second-placed team Denmark at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.

Forgetting their last two World Cup campaigns, both of which ended in early group-stage exits, Germany have already made more progress in Euro 2024. In an unusual turn of events, Group A’s second-placed Switzerland are now on the easier side of the knockout draw. If Germany can defeat Denmark, they will face either Spain or the unfancied Georgia in the quarter-finals.

On the other hand, Group C was dominated by stalemate experts - England, Slovenia, Serbia, and Denmark. All three teams contributed to the joint lowest-scoring men's Euros group in history with only seven goals scored over six games. Despite not winning any of their games in the group, Denmark's three draws with their three opponents were enough for them to claim the silver medal.
