In the first match of the UEFA Euro 2024, the host nation Germany will face Scotland at the Munich Football Arena (Allianz Arena) in Munich in a Group A Match on Friday (June 14).
Despite the lacklustre performances in the recent international tournaments, Germany is among the favourites to lift the trophy. In their last Euro campaign, Die Mannschaft were eliminated in the round of 16, as they lost against England. In the recent matches, the three-time champions have defeated teams like France and Netherlands and it would certainly give them the confidence to grab the title for a record fourth time.

Despite players like Timo Werner, Serge Gnabry, and Leon Goretzka missing out on the Euro for various reasons, German boss Julian Nagelsmann will have a plethora of options in this star-studded German squad.
Toni Kroos and Bayer Leverkusen's Robert Andrich might be the double pivot in the midfield and will be partnered with the captain Ilkay Gündogan. Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz will be the most probable choice in the wings over Leroy Sane, while the Arsenal forward Kai Havertz will lead the German attack.
Scotland, despite dealing with an injury-stricken squad, has managed to pull out a stable squad for this campaign.
Liverpool's Andrew Robertson, Kieran Tierney, Anthony Ralston and Grant Hanley will be in charge of the defence while the likes of Manchester United's Scott McTominay, Aston Villa captain John McGinn and Brighton's Billy Gilmour will be in the midfield.
Germany: Manuel Neuer; Joshua Kimmich, Antonio Rüdiger, Jonathan Tah, Maximilian Mittelstädt; Robert Andrich, Toni Kroos; Jamal Musiala, Ilkay Gündogan, Florian Wirtz; Kai Havertz
Scotland: Angus Gunn; Anthony Ralston, Ryan Porteus, Jack Hendry, Kieran Tierney, Andrew Robertson; Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour, Callum McGregor, John McGinn; Che Adams
Weight of expectation could be a detrimental factor for the hosts, as they failed to cope with such pressure in recent major tournaments. On the other hand, Scotland will be in the opposite situation. Yet, Nagelsmann's team should overcome the Scottish challenge given the recent successes.
Our Prediction: Germany 3:0 Scotland
