Lamine Yamal has etched his name in history as the youngest player to ever feature in a World Cup or European Championship final. The Barcelona winger took to the field for Spain in Sunday's Euro 2024 final against England in Berlin.
The young talent has had an outstanding tournament for La Roja, netting a crucial equaliser in Tuesday's 2-1 semi-final win over France. Yamal also boasts three assists in Germany, making him the Spanish player with the most assists in the tournament's history.

At just 17 years 1 day old, Yamal broke Pele's longstanding record from the 1958 World Cup. Pele was 17 years 249 days old when he played against Sweden. Yamal is now the youngest player to feature in a EURO or World Cup final.
On the other end of the age spectrum, Luis de la Fuente, at 63 years and 23 days old, is the third-oldest manager to lead a team in a European Championship final. He follows Luis Aragones, who was 69 years and 337 days old when he led Spain to victory in 2008, and Otto Rehhagel of Greece, who was 65 years and 330 days old when he won the trophy in 2004.
Spain aims to become the first team to win the competition four times, having previously lifted the trophy in 1964, 2008, and 2012. This ambition adds another layer of excitement to their current campaign.
Yamal shared another historic moment with England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo. Their appearance marked the first time two teenagers have started a Euros or World Cup final.
