Lamine Yamal scored a stunning goal to get Spain back on level terms against France in the Euro 2024 semifinal on Tuesday (July 9).
Lamine Yamal set a new record by becoming the youngest player to participate in a semi-final of a major tournament. At just 16 years and 362 days old, he played for Spain against France in Euro 2024.

Yamal's appearance in the semi-final broke Pele's long-standing record. Pele was 17 years and 244 days old when he played for Brazil in the 1958 World Cup semi-final, also against France.
The Barcelona winger had already made headlines earlier in the tournament. He became the youngest player to ever feature at the European Championships when he started Spain's opener against Croatia on June 15, aged 16 years and 338 days.
Yamal has been outstanding throughout the competition. He has managed three assists so far, a feat no other Spanish player has achieved in a single edition of the Euros.
And to mark his record-breaking appearance, Yamal scored an absolute stunner. After Randal Kolo Muani's goal, Yamal came up with a perfect reply to restore parity. His left-footed strike beat the keeper and went in after striking the inside of the post. He made quick control with his feet and when the chance seemed to have gone begging, Yamal produced the beautiful strike.
After Lamine's equalizer, Spain has taken the lead through another fantastic goal from Dani Olmo. If Spain win the semifinal, they will face either England or Netherlands in the Euro 2024 Final.
