The Euro 2024 is set to kick off on Friday (June 14) and it will be hosted in Germany, home to the three-time European champions.
Known for its love of the game, Germany promises a grand celebration for the event. This is the first time they are hosting a grand tournament since FIFA World Cup back in 2006, hence we can expect an extravaganza.

24 European nations will fight for the ultimate glory and the tournament is set to raise its curtain with a dazzling opening ceremony.
Euro 2024's opening ceremony will take place before the opening match between Germany and Scotland. The ceremony will honour the late football legend Franz Beckenbauer. His wife, Heidi, will carry the Henri Delaunay Cup, joined by Germany's Euro-winning captains Bernard Dietz and Juergen Klinsmann.
Beckenbauer, who led Germany to World Cup victories as both player and coach, also won two Ballon d'Or awards and the Euro in 1972. UEFA chose to honour his contributions at the Allianz Arena, his home ground with Bayern Munich.
A grand opening concert is also planned to celebrate the event which will be taking place a day before.
The opening concert for Euro 2024 will take place on June 13, 2024, a day before the tournament begins. The venue is Schlossplatz in Stuttgart, Germany, the largest square in the city. The audience can start entering at 4 pm local time (7:30 pm IST), with the show starting at 5 pm local time (8:30 pm IST). The event is expected to continue until 10:30 pm local time (2 am IST).
The concert will feature several national artists. SWR DJ will kick off the event, followed by a performance from the famous singer Leony, who may perform the official tournament song, "FIRE". German EDM star Topic will take the stage next, followed by DJs Robin Schulz and Le Shuuk.
Fans can watch the opening ceremony on Sony Sports network and Sony LIV app in India. The concert can be viewed live at Schlossplatz by purchasing tickets online. Unfortunately, there is no information about the event being televised globally.
