Euro 2024 Points Table Group A: The Euro 2024 has started as hosts Germany took on Scotland in the opener. Germany, Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland are slotted in Group A.
Switzerland secured a fantastic 3-1 victory over Hungary in Koln on Saturday.
Germany is the best-ranked team in the Group whereas Scotland is currently ranked 39, the lowest among the teams in Group A. Switzerland will be up against Hungary in the next match.
A 3-1 victory for the Swiss takes them to the 2nd spot behind Germany. A magnificent display as goals from Kwadwo Duah, Michel Aebishcer and Breel Embolo seal the deal. Barnabas Varga scored the solitary goal for Hungary.
Substitute Niclas Fullkrug added a fourth goal for Julian Nagelsmann's team. Though Antonio Rudiger's own goal gave Scotland some late solace, Emre Can capped the scoreline in stoppage time. This marked Germany's largest opening-match win at the Euros.
