Group A opponents Scotland and Hungary will face each other in Stuttgart on Sunday evening. Both teams require a win to advance to the knockout phase of Euro 2024.
While the Tartan Army scored their first point by holding Switzerland in their last match, Hungary are still sitting in their table without even a single point and absent a miracle, they will be eliminated.

Scotland vs Hungary Preview
In the hope of regaining some pride from their Euro 2024 campaign, Scotland kept themselves in contention for the last 16 with a 1-1 draw against Switzerland in midweek, following a 5-1 setback to Germany on the opening night. Their declared goal for this summer is to make it to the knockout rounds of a major final for the first time.
Finishing third in Group A may be enough to do that. Only if they win handsomely and Switzerland loses by a significant margin to Germany will the Tartan Army be able to take second place, therefore they must attempt to get four points from three games, then cross their fingers and pray.
On the other hand, Hungary is winless in its last eight Euros appearances. Hungary cannot finish in the top two and would be unable to reach the final 16 if they do not overcome Scotland. Even yet, a total of three points is unlikely to qualify them as one of the best third-place teams, thus the outlook appears dismal.
