The Euro 2024 has reached the penultimate phase as the semifinals are set to beckon from Tuesday (July 9).
After four exhilarating quarterfinals, the final four teams have progressed to the semifinals and will be locking horns for a grandstand finish in the extravaganza in Germany.

After a goalless 120 minutes, Portugal fell to Les Bleus in penalties. In a fantastic display of spot kicks, the solitary miss came from Joao Felix who hit the post and thus eliminated Portugal from the competition. This also marks the last match for Cristiano Ronaldo in Euros.
England and Switzerland ended 1-1 after extra time. Bukayo Saka scored the equalizer for the Three Lions after Breel Embolo gave the Swiss a lead. In the penalties, Jordan Pickford saved Manuel Akanji's shot and England won the shootout 5-3 to ensure semifinal qualification.
The Netherlands came from behind to win 2-1 against Turkey and thus advanced to the semifinals.
Spain will be taking on France in the first semifinal, while England are up against Netherlands in the other semifinal match.
