Euro 2024: Teams that could qualify to knockout stages from Group A

Group A of Euro 2024 features some of the fiercest teams of the tournament. As customary hosts, Germany is slotted in the group along with the likes of Scotland, Hungary, and Switzerland.

Group A Overview

Germany

The hosts are one of the favorites to make it to the next stage. Despite going through a transition, the German side boasts of having a formidable squad. Under the tutelage of Julian Nagelsmann, Die Mannschaft will be looking to earn their fifth European title. Though favourites, Germany is expected to face a tough battle against the likes of Scotland and Hungary.

Scotland

Albeit going through a rough patch and a string of poor performances, Scotland poses a major threat in Group A. But the Scots are a team that can score anytime during a game, making them a very unpredictable side. With the urge to perform at a top level when the stage is set, Scotland will definitely target the second spot in group A.

Hungary

Arguably one of the dark horses of the tournament, Hungary is a strong side. The team has been unbeaten in 12 matches since September 2022. Marco Rossi's side will pose a big threat to Germany and Scotland and will go toe-to-toe with the Scots to take the second spot in the group.

Switzerland

Switzerland is one of the least favorites in Group A to progress to the next stage. Though the side is in bad form, they surely have the urge and keenness to perform on the grand stage.

Predictions

We here at MyKhel predict, hosts Germany to top Group A. Both Scotland and Hungary will fight for the second spot with the Scots having a bit of an advantage. Unfortunately, Switzerland is expected to finish at the bottom of group A.
