England's Euro 2024 campaign starts with a key match against Serbia on June 16. The Three Lions will be hoping to go one better in this edition after finishing as Runners-up last time in 2021.
Gareth Southgate, the England head coach, is yet to pick his final squad for the tournament but is expected to name a strong team ahead of the deadline. There is an abundance of talent in the England unit, with accomplished players across all departments.

Harry Kane is certain to lead their attacking spree while the likes of Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka will also play crucial roles in the advanced positions. In midfield, Declan Rice is tipped to be a key member while the defence comprised of players such as John Stones, Kyle Walker depicts the depth and quality in the team.
But along with the known international names, the Three Lions will be hoping to get a lot of help from the comparatively new names in the competition. In the 33-man preliminary squad, Southgate named 18 players who have less than 10 international caps. Hence, there will be opportunities for youngsters and not-so-experienced international players to make a name for themselves.
In this article, our focus lies solely on three players who can emerge as key players for them in the Euro 2024, subject to their selection in the final squad.
Kobbie Mainoo has risen through the Manchester United ranks last season. The 19-year-old midfielder has shown his immense quality at such a tender age and has been a livewire for the Red Devils.
His pace, skills and ability to play as a double pivot is a magnificent luxury for Southgate to have at his arsenal. The youngster has a superb ball retention ability and skills to find space and pick a pass that can be utilized by the England coach in the upcoming Euros. Although he may have sporadic chances, but the teenager has all the qualities to shine.
Ivan Toney has emerged as one of the best strikers in England in recent seasons. Although the Brentford striker lacks international numbers behind him, this can be Toney's opportunity to rise. Harry Kane is going to be England's main man forward, but Toney can also play a key part. The lanky forward has excellent strength and skill which can be beneficial for the Three Lions.
The new sensation of English football, Chelsea's Cole Palmer can emerge a star in this Euros. The 22-year-old is coming into the tournament on the back of a stellar form for the Blues. The youngster netted 25 goals for the London club last season, and found the net for the first time in England colours in their latest friendly against Bosnia & Herzegovina. Primarily a right-winger, Palmer can play in multiple positions and that is a big advantage for Gareth Southgate.
The youngster has excellent pace, great skills on the ball and his finishing ability is something which has garnered numerous accolades. If Palmer gets the minutes under his belt, he can be a force for England.
