Declan Rice is optimistic about England's chances at Euro 2024 as the team heads to Germany. The Arsenal midfielder, who played in the 2021 final against Italy, has become a key player under Gareth Southgate.
England came agonizingly close in the last edition of the Euros as they were beaten in the Final by penalties. But ahead of this new campaign, Rice is buoyant and claims they want to make history.

"We want to make history," the 25-year-old said on England's departure show on YouTube. "We have a group, a manager, that really believes."
Rice emphasized the team's confidence and hard work and believes they can pull off something brilliant in Germany.
"We have a confidence that we can go there and do something really special and, of course, with that comes hard work," he said.
He also spoke about the importance of unity and support from fans. "The hard work as a team, unity, togetherness, and with everyone behind us at home. We're going to feel that for sure, so stick with us, be positive and let's see what happens," he added.
The Arsenal midfielder has been a top player for both club and country. This will be Rice's third major competition with England and the 25-year-old will be keen to make the most of it.
Rice is going to play a key role for the Three Lions at the centre of the midfield. His excellent defensive ability coupled with offensive flair can be crucial for England in the tournament. Rice is not just a fantastic tackler but a brilliant ball carrier and has the eye to find a pass, and Southgate will be hoping to see the best of the Arsenal midfielder in the competition.
Gareth Southgate's boys finished off their preparations with a defeat at the hands of Iceland and need a positive turn around as they face Serbia in the Group C match on Sunday (June 16).
