Euro 2024: Will Kylian Mbappe play for France against Netherlands Today?

France striker Kylian Mbappe had a disastrous outing against Austria in the Euro 2024 opener as he broke his nose. Mbappe collided with Austria's Kevin Danso and broke his nose and the bloodied face of Mbappe concerned the fans.

France somehow managed to win the match but their next match is the biggest challenge as they take on Netherlands. The Dutch will pose a bigger challenge to them and as France takes on their distant neighbours to the North, the question is if Mbappe will feature for Les Bleus.

Mbappe was seen wearing a France-coloured mask on Thursday. The striker was fine with his movements and looked to have shrugged off the broken nose incident, but his participation is still under doubt.

Although Mbappe will be desperate to play and contribute to his nation, the severity of the injury needs to be judged as the French management won't want to worsen his situation. Generally a broken nose requires a longer period of layoff, France manager Didier Deschamps said that they are working on Mbappe's fitness ahead of the match.

"Everything is going well, after the shock we had. He was able to take part is some light exercises yesterday and that will be the same this evening. Everything is evolving in the right direction. We'll do all we can to ensure that he'll be available tomorrow," Deschamps said on Mbappe.

Netherlands vs France Euro 2024: Will Kylian Mbappe play Today against Netherlands?

Kylian Mbappe looks set to play against Netherlands. The French striker seems to be ready and fit for the clash and will don the protective mask while playing. There is always a risk of a recurring injury but the French team management looks set to take the risk and get their talisman on the pitch.

Mbappe himself will also be highly motivated to play despite the injury. The 25-year-old is on the verge of record as three more goals will take him to 50 goals with the French national team.
