London, March 19: Danny Welbeck's alleged dive against AC Milan will not be scrutinised by UEFA. The Arsenal forward went to ground under minimal contact from Ricardo Rodriguez in his side's 3-1 Europa League win over the Serie A club last week, converting the penalty himself.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger indicated in a post-match interview that he did not see whether Welbeck deceived the officials, while Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso said he would not "judge" English football over the incident.
Danny Welbeck you are an absolute disgrace. Arsenal fans cannot speak about Alli diving ever again #ARSMIL #AFCvACM pic.twitter.com/lzP0XX270M

"I haven't seen it again. I will watch it again and give my honest feeling about it," said Wenger. "I will give him my honest feeling about it as well, don't worry."
"The British media went down hard on him because they are a very sporting nation and believe in honesty," Gattuso told reporters. "I know how they think there, because I played in Britain when I was 20 years old. I won't judge, because when I was a player, I tried to take advantage of little incidents.
For all those asking, yes a BLATANT dive from Welbeck. Ref was conned #ARSMIL

"Nobody wants to lose and I'd be a hypocrite to say he was wrong. The truth is it wasn't his mistake, but that of the officials who awarded the penalty."
UEFA's disciplinary body met on Monday to discuss last week's European matches and no case has been opened against Welbeck, a spokesperson said.
Welbeck – included in Gareth Southgate's latest England squad – will therefore be available for selection for Arsenal's Europa League quarter-final against CSKA Moscow next month.
Welbeck converted from the spot after winning the penalty, shooting to the bottom-left corner and sending AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma the wrong way. This was Arsenal's equaliser, cancelling out the striker by Hakan Calhanoglu.

Granit Xhaka then went for goal from long. The shot took a deflection off Donnarumma before rolling in and sparking Arsenal celebrations. Welbeck rounded off Milan by heading in from close range to win the tie 3-1. The aggregate score was 5-1 in favour of Arsenal.
