David Moyes is optimistic about Everton's progress, yet he emphasises the importance of addressing financial challenges while maintaining their Premier League status. Since taking over from Sean Dyche last month, Moyes has matched Dyche's record of three league victories this season. Everton's recent wins against Tottenham, Brighton, and Leicester City have propelled them nine points clear of the relegation zone.
The club made only one signing during the winter transfer window, acquiring Carlos Alcaraz on loan from Flamengo. Moyes acknowledged that Everton continues to grapple with financial difficulties after being docked eight points last season for breaching the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules. "I've not been here over the period of the points deductions," Moyes told beIN SPORTS.

Moyes expressed confidence in Everton's ability to avoid relegation, stating, "I think everyone feels we're moving away from it now." He added that they are transitioning "from darkness into the light" but still have some hurdles to overcome. The Opta supercomputer now estimates a mere 0.8% chance of Everton being relegated.
Before Moyes' arrival, Everton had scored only 15 Premier League goals, surpassing only Southampton. Their expected goals (xG) stood at a low 18.33. However, since Moyes took charge, Everton has netted eight goals in four league matches and generated chances worth 6.41 xG.
Moyes has focused on boosting players' confidence and belief in their ability to create more scoring opportunities. "We've tried to give the players more confidence," he said. He aims to maintain the well-organised team left by Dyche while adding new dimensions to their play.
Everton will face Bournemouth in the FA Cup on Saturday before a rearranged Merseyside derby against Liverpool next week. Moyes stressed the importance of winning games by any means necessary: "By hook and by crook, we need to do that." He praised his players for their improved performance and increased chance creation compared to earlier in the season.
Moyes also highlighted the significance of entering their new stadium as a Premier League club while providing fans with enjoyable football at Goodison Park during the remaining months of the season.
