David Moyes praised Everton's resilience after Jake O'Brien's late equaliser secured a point against West Ham. The Toffees were on the verge of their first loss in nine Premier League games following Tomas Soucek's second-half goal at Goodison Park. However, O'Brien headed in Idrissa Gueye's cross in the 91st minute to extend Everton's unbeaten run, matching their longest streak since February 2017 under Ronald Koeman.
Moyes expressed satisfaction with the result, telling BBC Sport that the draw was deserved. He acknowledged Everton's strong first half but noted a lack of chances created. West Ham began the second half stronger, prompting Moyes to make impactful substitutions. "We got our reward," he said, emphasising the importance of securing at least one point when three aren't possible.

The Everton manager also highlighted the team's need to improve quality in certain areas. He stressed that while they are regaining form, there's still work to be done to elevate their performance levels. Moyes commended O'Brien for his crucial role in securing draws in recent matches, noting his development as a young centre-back adapting to right-back.
O'Brien himself acknowledged the team's flat period during which West Ham capitalised but credited the fans for their unwavering support. "The crowd were amazing," he said, appreciating how they motivated the team until the final whistle. Despite recent draws that could have been wins, O'Brien emphasised the need for more points to climb higher in the standings.
On the other side, West Ham missed out on what could have been their third win in four matches. Manager Graham Potter focused on positives from their performance despite conceding late. "It's football," he remarked about how quickly games can change, especially with fan pressure and late-game dynamics.
Potter praised his team's defensive efforts and noted that Everton had few clear chances, attributing much of their threat to fan-driven momentum and set-piece pressure. He considered it a valuable point against a strong opponent and stressed the importance of aiming for three points in every match moving forward.
Tomas Soucek expressed disappointment over conceding so late when leading but recognised every game’s significance for both players and supporters. The focus remains on maintaining concentration and striving for victories in upcoming fixtures.
