Everton and West Ham eye Leicester youngster Eppiah

Craig Shakespeare, who left Leicester earlier this season, has reportedly encouraged new Everton boss Sam Allardyce to sign the 19-year-old young forward.

Bengaluru, December 11: Leicester City forward Josh Eppiah is wanted by Everton and a host of Premier League clubs, according to reports in England.

The Belgium Under-19 international has impressed in the youth ranks at the King Power and has featured for their Under-21s on a regular occasion.

While he is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Foxes, the youngster has attracted the interests from the likes of Premier League clubs like Bournemouth, West Ham and Stoke, according to ESPN.

Craig Shakespeare, who left Leicester earlier this season, has reportedly encouraged new Everton boss Sam Allardyce to sign the 19-year-old young forward.

Shakespeare regards him as one of the best young players to come through Leicester’s ranks in the time he was associated with the club and wants him to join the Toffees as he believes that he could be a big player for the Merseyside giants.

Eppiah scored the winner for Leicester against Everton in their recent Premier League cup clash.

Despite his excellent showings for the under-21 side, the forward is yet to make a breakthrough into the first team.

Everton have a good record of blooding Finch Farm youngsters in recent seasons, with the likes of Jonjo Kenny, Tom Davies and Dominc Calvert-Lewin all getting big first-team experience. They also signed Ademola Lookman from the clutches of bigger clubs who also wanted the highly-rated youngster and Eppiah could be another youngster making his way to the youthful Everton side.

However, with Championship and foreign clubs also interested in Eppiah, he might want to consider how he will get the most playing time.

Meanwhile Leicester fans are braced for the departure of Riyad Mahrez, after it was revealed the Foxes winger is determined to quit the club regardless of whether or not he gets offered a new contract.
