Every Match Holds Importance For Glasner As Crystal Palace Prepare To Face Ipswich Town

Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner highlights the importance of each game as they prepare to face fellow strugglers Ipswich Town in the Premier League. Both teams seek crucial points to improve their standings.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has downplayed the significance of their upcoming Premier League match against Ipswich Town, despite both teams being level on nine points. With identical records of one win and six draws from 13 matches, Glasner insists every game holds equal importance. "I don't think it's a six-pointer, but it's an important game. Every single game is important," he stated.

Palace currently sit in 17th place and have not secured a victory in their last four matches. They face an Ipswich side that recently defeated Tottenham 2-1 and managed a 1-1 draw against Manchester United. Glasner anticipates a competitive match, noting, "They have a home game, and they will want to take the three points. I think that is how they will enter the game and we will do the same."

Glasner Stresses Importance of Every Match for Palace

Liam Delap stands out for Ipswich Town with six goals in 13 appearances this season. The 21-year-old has been instrumental in recent matches, scoring five times in his last eight games. His performance was pivotal in their victory over Tottenham last month, where he scored and assisted.

For Crystal Palace, Jean-Philippe Mateta has been crucial with three goals and an assist this season. The French striker aims to continue his scoring streak against newly promoted clubs, hoping to match Andrew Johnson's club record from 2004-05 by finding the net at Portman Road.

Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is optimistic about his team's chances as they prepare for two home games within six days. Despite not winning at home this season, McKenna sees this as an opportunity to turn things around. "We always made a big thing of trying to attack back-to-back home games in League One and the Championship," he explained.

The history between these teams suggests a close contest; Palace are unbeaten in all four Premier League meetings with Ipswich (W3 D1). Their first encounter ended in a 2-0 victory for Palace at Portman Road back in February 1995. However, Ipswich are winless in their last six Premier League home matches (D4 L2), while Palace have only won two of their last 19 away league games (D8 L9).

The live win probability reflects the tight nature of this matchup: Crystal Palace win - 38.5%, Ipswich Town win - 35.1%, Draw - 26.4%. Both teams are eager to climb out of the relegation zone, making this clash crucial for their survival hopes.
