Ruben Amorim acknowledges the pressure at Manchester United, where everyone is striving to secure their positions. Since taking over in November, Amorim has struggled to improve the team's performance, with United currently sitting 13th in the Premier League. The team has only managed to gather 14 points from 13 matches under his leadership.
United's recent form has been concerning, especially after a 2-0 defeat against Crystal Palace at home. This loss marked Amorim's fifth defeat in seven home games, surpassing the number of home losses Jose Mourinho experienced during his tenure and matching Louis van Gaal's record over two seasons. Despite spending £21.4 million to replace Erik ten Hag with Amorim, the former Sporting CP manager remains focused on turning things around.

Amorim is aware of the risks involved in his role, stating, "We are fighting for our jobs until the summer." He understands that his decision to make significant changes mid-season without new signings poses a challenge. "I knew when I chose this profession that you have the risk of the results," he explained.
Despite these challenges, Amorim remains committed to his vision for the team. "Since day one, with good results or bad results, I have a clear idea what I want to do," he said. He believes that taking these risks will eventually yield positive outcomes.
The club was relatively inactive during the mid-season transfer window. They only signed Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven while allowing Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia to leave on loan. Although linked with Mathys Tel, who joined Tottenham instead, Amorim decided against rushing into new signings.
"The club is taking its time," Amorim stated regarding transfers. He emphasised learning from past mistakes and focusing on improving current players before making further decisions in the summer. "We want a different thing in our team and that is my area," he added.
Marcus Rashford's departure was notable as he joined Aston Villa on loan. Amorim had previously criticised Rashford's attitude and expressed relief at not having to address questions about him anymore. "Thankfully about Marcus, he is in Birmingham now," Amorim remarked.
The situation at Manchester United remains challenging as they aim to improve their standing in the league. With careful planning and strategic decisions, Amorim hopes to guide the team towards better results by season's end.
