Calls for "Wenger out" emerged again after Arsenal lost the EFL Cup (Carabao Cup) final to Manchester City 3-0 last Sunday. The Gunners were humbled by the same margin again on Thursday night by City in the Premier League.

While Wenger remains adamant about completing his tenure at Arsenal, Robson, appearing on Sports Breakfast, questioned the Frenchman's loyalty to the club.

"Did you see his interview yesterday? I've turned down the world to stay at Arsenal' - he's so arrogant, it's untrue," Robson commented.

"The reason he stays at Arsenal is he can do what he wants, he's not under pressure and he gets paid nearly £10million a year - that's why he stays at Arsenal, not because he's loyal to the club. If he was loyal to Arsenal and loved Arsenal so much, he would have left two or three years ago."

Robson went on to blame Wenger for Arsenal's poor performances year by year. "If you haven't got a game plan, you can lose games badly and it looks like you're not trying, and that's what happened on Sunday. I don't think it was a lack of effort, they just don't know what they're doing and that comes down to one person and one person only. It's been going on for so many years. They're disorganised, they haven't got a game plan or structure when things start to go badly," he said.

Robson had begun his youth career from Arsenal. Robson featured in 150 matches for Arsenal, scoring 16 goals in from 1981 to 1987.

Oblivious to the calls for his ouster, Wenger denied the speculation about his ending term in the club. When Wenger was asked if his future at Arsenal is under threat, he strongly responded, "I am just amazed that I have to always answer things that are exactly the same. I am here for 21 years, I turned the whole world down to respect my contracts. So I am still amazed that I still have to answer these types of questions.”

Wenger further added, "My position is my position. Honestly, that's the last worry I have at the moment. My worry is to focus, to get the team ready for tomorrow's game. My job is to focus on performing and my job is to perform. It's for other people to judge me, it isn't for me to evaluate that."
