Indian football team fans have expressed their frustration and disappointment after the national team failed to progress to the third round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, losing 2-1 to Qatar's U23 team. Majority of them have asked for Igor Stimac's resignation.
India were displaying some promising football but a shambolic decision from the referee became the beginning of their fall against Qatar. Still, that doesn't explain India's pathetic run in the AFC Asian Cup in January this year and disappointing results in two matches against Afghanistan and the home match against Kuwait which cost them dearly.

Now, even though fans are extremely angry about the horrendous decision from the referee, they are more angry with head coach Igor Stimac. The team has been struggling under him for some time now and fans have also lost their patience after his unfulfilled promises one after another.
The fans have taken to social media to display their anger. Indian football team's biggest fans' group Blue Pilgrims took to the social media platform 'X' or previously known as Twitter to say, "We were robbed today, but we were punished everyday in all the games we played before this. Lest we forget. Now leave Igor Stimac."
Another fan wrote, "For a change, walk the talk and just LEAVE, Mr. Igor "bigmouth" Stimac. If he doesn't, will you have the guts to do what should have been done a long ago, Mr. Kalyan Chaubey? Just kick him out of Indian soil - at once."
The loss to Qatar marks the end of India's hopes to qualify for the third round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The team's performance has been inconsistent under Stimac, with many fans questioning his tactics and ability to motivate the team. Now, all fans are eagerly waiting to see if the coach really does decide to leave or not.
