Just as Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers were starting to build momentum and stabilize their teams, the September international break threw a wrench into the plans.
This break often brings challenges like unexpected injuries, absences, and fitness concerns as players return to their clubs, which leaves many FPL managers scrambling to make last-minute adjustments.

Odegaard is expected to be sidelined for around three weeks, making him a liability for FPL managers. Those who own him should consider replacing him before Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures, as his absence could severely impact the points tally during this period.
2. Ezri Konsa – Aston Villa (£4.5m)
Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa has emerged as a budget-friendly option in many FPL teams this season, selected by 13% of managers.
However, Konsa was substituted in the 60th minute of England’s match against Finland after suffering an ankle injury. While England's coach Lee Carsley played down the severity of the injury, Aston Villa manager Unai Emery may be cautious and decide not to risk him for the next gameweek.
Given the uncertainty surrounding Konsa’s fitness and his potential absence from Villa’s defense, FPL managers should consider alternative budget defenders to avoid being caught out by a late withdrawal.
3. Nathan Ake – Manchester City (£5.4m)
Manchester City’s Nathan Ake is another player who may need to be dropped from FPL squads due to injury.
The Dutch defender sustained what appeared to be a muscle injury during the Netherlands’ international match against Germany. Ake had to be stretchered off, which suggests a more serious issue, and his availability for the upcoming Premier League gameweek is doubtful.
With only 1.8% ownership in FPL, Ake is a relatively low-impact player for most teams, but for those who do own him, it’s advisable to transfer him out before his price potentially drops further.
