Farke Expresses Concern Over Jayden Bogle's Injury Before Premier League Opener Against Everton

Daniel Farke is worried about Jayden Bogle's hip flexor injury as Leeds United gears up for their Premier League opener against Everton. With other players also sidelined, Farke hopes to have Bogle back in time for crucial preparations.

Leeds United faced a challenging pre-season with injuries affecting key players, including Jayden Bogle. Their recent match against Villarreal ended in a 1-1 draw at Elland Road. Bogle missed the game due to a hip flexor injury, raising concerns for manager Daniel Farke. Etta Eyong scored first for Villarreal, but Joel Piroe equalised shortly after.

Farke expressed his worries about Bogle's condition, stating, "Bogle had problems with his hip flexor. That's a bit of a concern, if I'm honest, because I'm not sure if I will have him available for our final test [against Milan]. I hope to have him at least available then during the last week of preparation [before Everton] because he's an important player for us."

Farke Concerned About Bogle's Injury Status

Besides Bogle, Dan James and Jack Harrison were also absent from the squad. James is expected to recover in time for the upcoming match against AC Milan. Harrison underwent a scan for adductor issues, and Leeds are awaiting results to determine his availability. Lucas Perri was another absentee but is anticipated to return soon.

Bogle's performance last season was impressive, contributing six goals and four assists while helping maintain 19 clean sheets. He led Leeds in tackles made (98) and won (62), with only Ao Tanaka surpassing his 37 interceptions. His presence is crucial as Leeds prepares for their Premier League opener against Everton on August 18.

Leeds stood out among newly promoted teams by avoiding defeat in their pre-season friendlies on Saturday. Sunderland suffered a 1-0 loss to Real Betis at home, while Burnley was defeated by Stoke City with the same scoreline at the Bet365 Stadium.

Farke acknowledged the need for reinforcements in both offensive and full-back positions due to injuries like Bogle's. He mentioned that Daniel James had minor issues during training but should be fit for the AC Milan game. The team hopes Harrison's absence will be brief following his scan results.

The club remains optimistic about having key players ready for their final pre-season test against AC Milan. Ensuring fitness ahead of their Premier League campaign is crucial as they aim to build on last season's success.
