FC Goa are locking horns against Chennaiyin FC in a crucial Durand Cup 2023 quarterfinals clash at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati today (August 26). After NorthEast United FC qualified for the semi-finals, we expect a thrilling knockout clash between Chennaiyin FC and FC Goa, two top sides of the Indian Super League (ISL).
The match will kickoff at 6:00 pm IST on Saturday and it promises to be an enticing affair between the two top sides, who both topped their respective groups to qualify for the knockout stages.

The final whistle blows in Guwahati and it is FC Goa who are through to the semifinals of the Durand Cup after a thumping 4-1 win over Chennaiyin. The Marina Machans took the lead early through Bikash, but FC Goa roared back with four goals and now will be packing their bags for Kolkata. They will play the winners of Mumbai City vs Mohun Bagan match tomorrow.

7 minutes are added on at the end of 90 minutes and it is FC Goa 2 Chennaiyin 1 at the moment. As it stands, the Gaurs will be booking their flight to Kolkata for the semifinals.
Murray wins the corner for Chennaiyin FC, but they fail to get anything out from the set piece as Sandesh Jhingan makes another headed clearance.
Ajith saves the lines for Chennaiyin. Rowlin Borges almost found Noah Sadaoui there but it was the CFC defender in between Sadaoui and the goal.
Final few minutes of this game and Chennaiyin are still trying to find that equalizing goal. The opportunities have been few and far between for them.
Dheeraj Singh fists the ball away from a corner and then it is Sandesh Jhingan again who clears the danger. The Indian international has been excellent today for the Gaurs.
A chance for Chennaiyin from a free kick now. That was a blatant foul by Jay Gupta and CFC have a chance from a promising position.
Chennaiyin keeper Samik gave the ball straight to a Goa player but he fails to convert it to any fruitful result for the Gaurs.

The dependable Sandesh Jhingan slides down to deny Murray from sending in a cross. And from the resulting corner, Dheeraj makes a superb save to deny Chennaiyin.
A long throw sent in by Jay Gupta but to no effect as CFC players manage to clear their line. Then a robust run from Vincy Barretto but his pass lets him down.
Vincy Barretto was fouled there and the player is not happy. He is having a talk with the referee.
Rowlin Borges comes on for FC Goa. Jay Gupta also comes on for the Gaurs.
Sandesh Jhingan heads wide. A decent flighted delivery from Brandon Fernandes but the centre back's header is off the radar.
The team from South has failed to create any significant chances as we cross the hour mark in this quarter-final tie. Vincy Barretto has come on for them and they will be hoping some magic from the Goa boy against his native place's club.
The free kick from the resulting free kick is over from Sangwan. The CFC player couldn't keep the ball down in time as another opportunity not converted by CFC.
Jordan Murray finds Ajith on the right hand side, but Ajith's cross is awful and easily dealt by Sandesh Jhingan. And then Murray is fouled blatantly by Saviour Gama and he gets a Yellow Card, first of the game.
CFC have seen 57 percent of the ball in the second half, significantly higher of what they achieved in the first half. But they are yet to get the elusive equalizer.
Carlos Martinez's cross just a bit high for Noah Sadaoui. Sarthak Golui did just enough to rattle the FC Goa attacker. Rahim Ali then sends a long ball but it is straight to Dheeraj Singh.
Comical play from Chennaiyin FC there. The ball was passed to Farukh, who was down in the ground. The CFC players tries to manoeuvre from the falling position but fails to connect.
Five mintues gone after the break and Goa still holds on their lead. Noah Sadaoui gets the ball but can't find a decisive pass as an FC Goa attack fizzles out.
The half time whistle blows and it is FC Goa who have the lead at the break. They came from behind after an early goal from Chennaiyin. But it is the Gaurs who are deservedly in front at the moment in Guwahati.
Three minutes have been added at the end of first 45 minutes. It is to be seen whether FC Goa can get themselves ahead further in the flag end of this half.
A wayward shot arrives from CFC. That was nothing but a desperate attempt from distance but the ball flies way over the bar. They come again but Sandesh Jhingan shields the ball away from Shields and clears for the Gaurs.
It was on the cards for Chennaiyin FC. After taking the lead, they went into their shell and the defensive approach hasn't just worked for them. FC Goa stepped up and the pressure is finally paying off for the Western India outfit.
Goaaaal!! Carlos Martinez scores for FC Goa and the Gaurs have turned things around. After scuffing his initial shot, Martinez turns and beats one defender before lobbing it over the keeper to give FC Goa the lead.
At the moment, crosses are coming in from left and right and Chennaiyin FC are struggling to keep a lid to that. FC Goa will be fancying their chances in this half to turn things around.
Both Chennaiyin coach Owen Coyle and the Gaurs' Manolo Marquez are in the midst of establishing new squads and formations but have still managed to showcase attractive and effective football in the tournament. The Marina Machans have scored nine times and conceded twice, while the Gaurs have conceded the same number, scoring 11 in return. Whereas the former have majorly overhauled their attack line this year, Manolo Marquez has looked for more solidity in defence and midfield, with his new setup.
