Arsenal are kickstarting their pre-season campaign against German club FC Nurnberg on Thursday (July 13). The Gunners will play four pre-season games ahead of the start of this season and it will be an important task for them to start in the perfect manner.
Mikel Arteta and his boys will be hoping to topple the German second-tier club in their own backyard. These two teams met last July at the same venue when the Gunners won with a 5-3 scoreline. Gabriel Jesus made club debut at that match and scored a brace as the North London club made a comeback after a 2-0 deficit at the break.

Arsenal gave away the ball again but Nurnberg fail to capitalize. Auston Trusty slides in to block the shot and save Arsenal the blushes.
Reuell Walters hits his header wide. A decent ball from the corner by Cedric Soares, and the young defender rose the highest, but couldn't steer the header on target.
Karl Hein again has some struggle with his footwork and then he hurries to clear the ball. His shot is then overhit and goes for a Nurnberg throw.
Another attack fizzles out for Arsenal. They have looked a disjointed outfit in the second half. Despite the arrival of Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and others, it has been below par from them.

A thunderous shot from a long way out! Nurnberg's Ali Loune takes a thunderbolt which was parried on to the head of an attacker by Karl Hein, but the header hits the post.
You can witness that the tempo has gone up. Arsenal are with their tails up as they look to restore their lead. Nurnberg, on the other hand, will also believe to knick a goal again.

Nurnberg are having the best period of the game. They have looked a threat in the past few minutes. But it is about to halt as the German club is set to make seven substitutes.
Arsenal players were the architects of their own downfall. They should have been 2-0 up, but they couldn't. And seconds later they conceded as Karl Hein had a moment to forget.

How on earth Arsenal not score there? Gabriel Jesus fumbled when he could have just rolled it on. But when Jesus did pass, Folarin Balogun fails to hit the target and hits the post. Huge opportunity squandered.

Arsenal are looking comfortable in possession. Gabriel Jesus squanders an opportunity as he drags his shot wide. The move looked off side but the flag stayed down.
Gabriel Jesus fouls Handwerker and Nurnberg get a free kick. Johaness Geis takes it but Karl Hein completes a confident grab. Good start for the Estonia international.
Kai Havertz makes his first touch as an Arsenal player. The German will be keen to make a positive start to his Gunners career.

Arsenal took the lead courtesy of Bukayo Saka in the 7th minute. The England international slotted a left-footer early in the first half to break the deadlock. Arsenal went to the break with a 1-0 lead, but conceded around the hour mark as a terrible pass from substitute keeper Kar Hein gifted Nurnberg the equalizer.
Both teams tried to find a winner but none could succeed as it ended 1-1 at the Max-Morlock Stadion.
