Pune, December 13: Indian Super League (ISL) club FC Pune City have called in two of their reserve players - Gani Ahmed Nigam and Sahil Panwar into the main squad.

As per the ISL Player guidelines, a club is allowed to replace domestic players in main squad with players from its reserve squad after the club's 5th and 10th and 15th game.

Gani and Sahil will replace the defenders Wayne Vaz and Pawan Kumar. Gani plays mostly upfront while Sahil is a like-for-like replacement for Pawan.

FC Pune City, who are currently fourth in the ISL table with nine points from five games host table toppers Bengaluru FC at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium on Thursday (December 14).

After a sedate start, FC Pune City are gathering momentum in the ISL.They beat Jamshedpur FC 1-0 in their previous encounter at JRD Tata Sports Complex despite being down to 10 men.

That home loss incidentally was the high-flying Jamshedpur's first in the fourth edition of ISL.

That victory pushed Pune to the top half of the table and coach Ranko Popovic was particularly pleased regarding that.

"We want to be on top of the table," he said. "We sometimes put pressure because we want to stay on top. We will try to make ourselves more compact. We want to play good football, because the people deserve it."
