Federico Chiesa is open to a potential return to Juventus, but his main focus remains on regaining top form with Liverpool next season. Chiesa moved to Liverpool last August for a reported £10 million plus add-ons after being informed by then-Juventus coach Thiago Motta that he was not in the club's plans. Despite being part of Liverpool's Premier League-winning squad, Chiesa only made his first start on the final day.
Chiesa's limited playtime, totalling just 104 minutes over six league appearances, has sparked rumours of a possible return to Italy before the 2025-26 season. In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Euro 2020 champion mentioned that discussions about his future are imminent. However, he expressed no concern over his lack of playing time last season.

"It will be an issue to be addressed in the summer," Chiesa stated. He emphasised his strong relationship with Liverpool, saying, "Me, my agent and my family have a very good relationship with Liverpool." His goal is to be prepared for pre-season and then find the best solution for all parties involved.
Reflecting on his time at Juventus, Chiesa said he holds no regrets about leaving after Motta's departure. "No, why should I?" he questioned when asked if he regretted leaving Juventus. He explained that there were talks about a contract renewal post-Euros, but they never materialised.
Chiesa had an impressive record at Juventus with 21 goals and 17 assists in 98 Serie A matches. Before joining Juventus initially on loan in 2020, he scored 26 goals and provided 17 assists for Fiorentina. With Italy aiming for the 2026 World Cup after missing out on recent editions, Chiesa knows a strong performance in the upcoming season is crucial.
The forward dreams of participating in the World Cup. "I hope it's my season," he said. "My dream is to participate in the World Cup. I played and won a European Championship, but the World Cup would be the top," he added.
Chiesa recounted how Motta told him directly that he was not part of Juventus' future plans: "You are not part of the project, look for a team." Despite feeling regret as he valued his time at Juventus, Chiesa accepted the decision professionally and continued training while seeking new opportunities.
He spent four years at Juventus and always maintained professionalism. Although it was their decision to let him go, Chiesa still cherishes his time there and doesn't rule out returning someday: "Returning one day? Never say never."
As Chiesa looks ahead to next season with Liverpool, his ambition is clear: regain form and contribute significantly both at club level and internationally with Italy.
