Fellaini's funny image saves the day for Manchester United

Bengaluru, August 9: Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has become an internet sensation after a funny picture of him heading a ball went viral on social media on Wednesday.

The Belgian, who featured in the 1-2 Super Cup defeat to Real Madrid on Tuesday night at the National Arena in Skopje, Macedonia, was hit on the face awkwardly and the frame captured by an Associated Press lensman became the tool for keyboard warriors to go berserk on social media platforms.

Fellaini himself joined the fun sharing the picture on his Twitter handle, even thanking those people who sent him it.

Though United lost the match, Fellaini's image provided fans and footballers plenty to cheer.

Manncheter United, under mercurial manager Jose Mourinho, begin their Premier League campaign with a home game against West Ham United on Saturday (August 13).
