Ferguson happy with Man U's goal-glut in Premier League this season

By Super Admin

London, Dec 17(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that he is satisfied with the goal scoring rate so far in the Premier League this season.

Man U have scored 37 goals in 17 Premier League matches, nine more than at the same stage last season when they had winger Cristiano Ronaldo going ballistic.

"Our scoring rate is well up on last season when we managed only 68 goals in the Premier League. It was enough to win the title," The Daily Express quoted Ferguson, as saying."A few weeks ago, I asked the players to start being more decisive with their chances, especially in the early part of a match, instead of appearing to take the relaxed view that, like buses, there will be another along in a minute," he added.

Ferguson further said that he was not too concerned with the second place at the moment, as he considers that if United can keep up the pace of scoring goals, they will win their fourth title on the trot.

"It seems they took my plea on board because we have been finishing a lot better lately and it brought us two good away league wins - 4-1 at Portsmouth and 4-0 at West Ham. And these have been difficult places for us in the past," Ferguson said.

"It's important that we keep scoring goals because goals invariably mean points and I am anxious we make our mark this month. December is usually a rich time for us and I'm hoping this year won't be an exception," he added. (ANI)
