"When I arrived it was very difficult, the first year and a half here: change of coaches, the club wasn't doing well, personal injuries," Fernandez told ESPN. Since Enzo Maresca took over as manager, Fernandez has shown significant improvement. The Argentine midfielder has been instrumental in Chelsea's recent successes. In the Premier League this season, he has contributed seven goal involvements—three goals and four assists—in just seven matches.
