Liverpool, Jan 31: English Premier League club Liverpool's midfielder Fernando Torres is all set to join another English club Chelsea with a record transfer rate.
Western media reported that the 26-year-old Spaniard will join Chelsea with a remarkable £50million worth of transfers. If Chelsea wins to join Torres in Stamford Bridge, it would be a record transfer between two British clubs.
Earlier, Torres submitted his request to leave the club to Liverpool authorities, but it was rejected. Amid the transfer rumors, on Sunday, Jan 30, Torres rejoined with Liverpool for training session and continued it for seven hours.
"Chelsea are prepared to meet Liverpool"s £50million valuation of Fernando Torres before the transfer window closes at 11pm," The Independent reported.
Chelsea aims to bag Torres to regain their Premier League tittle and Champions League trophy. Also, its owner Roman Abramovich hopes that Liverpool will drop the price to £37million. But media reported that Liverpool will fight to retain Torres in their squad.
