Hugo Bueno has joined Feyenoord on a season-long loan from Wolves, as confirmed by the Premier League club on Tuesday. The 21-year-old defender will now play for the Dutch side, who recently drew their first league match against Willem II.
Last season, Bueno made 21 league appearances under Gary O'Neil but only accumulated 830 minutes across 25 matches in all competitions. He often found himself behind Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matt Doherty in the pecking order for the left-back position.

This move offers Bueno a chance to compete at a higher level, as Feyenoord will participate in the Champions League this season. The Dutch club secured their spot after finishing second in Arne Slot's final season.
Wolves' sporting director Matt Hobbs assured fans that the team still has sufficient defensive options despite Bueno's departure. "Some people might think we're leaving ourselves short, but we've got a number of players who can cover in that area of the pitch," Hobbs stated.
"It's really important for us and Hugo that he goes and plays," Hobbs added, emphasizing the significance of regular playing time for Bueno's development.
The loan move is seen as beneficial for both parties. Bueno gets to test himself among Europe's elite while Wolves maintain their defensive depth. Fans will be keen to see how he performs in the Champions League with Feyenoord.
