Real Madrid will once again be without their star forward Kylian Mbappe as they gear up for their Club World Cup fixture against Mexican side Pachuca in Charlotte. According to a source within the club, Mbappe will not be travelling with the squad due to ongoing recovery from a bout of gastroenteritis.
The French international was hospitalized on Thursday for medical evaluation and treatment after falling ill. Though he has since been discharged and is reportedly feeling a little better each day, the club has decided not to rush his return to action.

Mbappe, 26, had already missed Real Madrid's opening fixture of the tournament - a 1-1 draw against Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal - as he continued his recovery. That match also marked the managerial debut of Xabi Alonso for the Spanish giants.
In Mbappe's absence, 21-year-old Gonzalo Garcia from the B team was handed a surprise start. The youngster made the most of the opportunity by scoring the opener for Madrid before Al-Hilal equalised later in the game.
Despite Mbappe's impressive individual season - which saw him claim the European Golden Shoe with 31 goals in La Liga and a total of 43 across all competitions - the season ended in disappointment for Real Madrid, who failed to secure any major silverware.
As Madrid prepare to take on Pachuca without their marquee signing, the team will once again look to its younger talents to step up in the Frenchman's absence. With no timeline confirmed for Mbappe's return, his availability for potential later fixtures in the tournament remains uncertain.
