The expanded Club World Cup, set to its first edition with 32 teams in 2025, will be taking place in USA and the final will be played at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The announcement was made by FIFA president Gianni Infantino on Saturday (September 28).
Notably, this venue is also slated to host the 2026 World Cup, emphasizing its significance in the world of football. But at first, it will be the battle of the clubs which will unfold in USA.

The tournament will span from June 15 to July 13, utilizing a total of 12 venues across different locations, with MetLife Stadium being the chosen site for the final showdown.
Among the venues selected, two are positioned on the West Coast, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena near Los Angeles and Lumen Field in Seattle, highlighting the geographical diversity of the tournament locations. Other stadiums set to feature in this global football event include Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta), Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte), and several others across the United States. This array of venues underscores the tournament's national scale and the variety of cities that will participate in hosting duties.
With the tournament draw scheduled for December, anticipation is building as 30 out of the 32 spots have been filled through the qualification process. The Club World Cup is poised to bring together champion teams from FIFA's continental confederations, including European giants like Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Bayern Munich. From South America, notable teams such as Argentina's River Plate and Boca Juniors, along with Brazil's Flamengo, have secured their places, setting the stage for a global football showdown.

Gianni Infantino has hailed the new Club World Cup as a landmark event for global football, stating, "This new FIFA competition is the only true example in worldwide club football of real solidarity and inclusivity."
He emphasized its potential to significantly influence the growth of club football and talent worldwide. The announcement of the venues was made during Infantino's appearance at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, New York, where FIFA also revealed a four-year partnership with Global Citizen. This collaboration aims to support anti-poverty initiatives, with Global Citizen producing the half-time show at the 2026 World Cup final.
