India's recent string of positive results have taken them to a new height in the latest FIFA rankings.
The apex body of football released the updated rankings on Thursday (July 20) and the Indian football team has seen an upsurge in terms of their position.

The Blue Tigers have been outstanding in 2023 as they won the SAFF Cup 2023. They also won the Intercontinental Cup and before that lifted the Tri-Nation series.
And by virtue of that, the Indian team have taken a major step forward. Igor Stimac's men were ranked 100 in FIFA rankings, and the latest update has elevated their ranking to a place to 99.
This is the first time this year the Indian football team have occupied a double-digit ranking and they will be hoping to continue their upsurge in the upcoming tournaments. India are also ranked 18th among the Asian countries.
At the top of the FIFA rankings, there are no major changes as the top ten teams remain unchanged in their rankings. Argentina continues to occupy the top spot in rankings, followed by France and Brazil in 2nd and 3rd spot.
At the top, the team which have made a major move is Mexico, who have gone up to 12th spot.
