The latest FIFA Rankings was released on Thursday (July 18) and Spain has climbed to 3rd place in the latest rankings after their Euro 2024 victory.
Argentina continues to hold the top spot following their second consecutive Copa America win. Spain's rise to third place follows their triumph in the Euro 2024, while Argentina maintained their lead after winning the Copa America title.

Argentina's victory over Colombia in the final was a significant milestone for Los Albicelestes. Spain, on the other hand, beat England in the Euro 2024 final. An extensive social media post from FIFA confirmed the rankings for the teams.
"Having successfully defended their CONMEBOL Copa América crown, Argentina (1st) tighten their grip at the top of the pile. France (2nd) are still their closest challengers, after reaching the semi-finals of UEFA EURO 2024. Newly crowned European champions Spain (3rd, up 5) have yet more reason to celebrate after hauling themselves into the top three of the ranking, while beaten finalists England (4th, up 1) are just behind the leading pack, having leapfrogged Brazil (5th, down 1)," read the statement from FIFA.
England also made a notable jump in the rankings, moving up to 4th place by surpassing Brazil. Brazil had a disappointing Copa America campaign, getting knocked out in the quarterfinals. This underwhelming performance caused them to drop to 5th place.
Venezuela saw a remarkable improvement in their ranking, climbing 17 spots to reach 37th place after making it to the quarter-finals of the Copa America. Turkey also made significant progress by moving up 16 places to secure the 26th position following their quarter-final appearance in the Euros.
New Zealand re-entered the Top 100 for the first time in seven years. Belgium dropped three places, while Portugal lost two spots in this latest update. Meanwhile, Colombia rejoined the top ten rankings. Croatia also exited top 10 after group stage exit in Euros. USA and Mexico, the two biggest CONCACAF teams also lost 5 and 2 places respectively in the latest rankings.
