FIFA world ranking: Spain remains numero uno

Zurich, Sep 15: Despite its 4-1 loss to Argentina in a friendly last week, 2010 World Cup Champion Spain managed to stay above Netherlands to retain the top spot on the FIFA"s world rankings released on Wednesday, Sep 15.

With 1824 points, Spain remains numero uno while Netherlands followed second with 1663 points. However, its fall to Argentina has narrowed Spain's lead over the Dutch.

Riding on their successive wins at the Euro Cup qualifiers, Germany and England rose on the rank list.

Germany has grabbed the third spot with 1490 points, up 26, pushing Brazil, with 1480 points, to the fourth rank.

While Argentina has retained the fifth rank with 1351 points, England rose one rank to the sixth spot with 1191 points, up 66.

Uruguay, Portugal, Egypt and Chile grabbed the rest of the top ten spots.
