Liverpool, November 26: Italian Serie A giants Fiorentina have joined the race for Everton starlet Henry Onyekuru.
The 20-year-old only joined the Toffees from Eupen last summer in a £7million move and is yet to make an appearance for the Merseyside club. He was immediately sent out on loan to Anderlecht and has fired seven goals in 14 appearances for the club so far.
Reports emerged earlier this week that both Manchester United and Barcelona have begun scouting the Nigerian. However, Italian football transfer website Calciomercato claim that the Serie A side are also tracking the starlet who has what it takes to become a star of the game.
Italian champions Juventus are also believed to be in the race for the highly-rated centre-forward and it seems that it will be tough for Everton to keep their priced asset.
There had been rumours of the Toffees recalling him as they looked to turn around their fortunes in front of goal.
The forward himself intensified the rumours that he could be set for a comeback after posting a picture on his Instagram account tagging himself in Liverpool city centre last month.
When asked about the picture, he told Belgian newspaper La Libre: "Yes, that's right and I'm waiting for something. That's all I can say.
"I hope to be able to play there in January.
"Everton is happy with my start to the season but we are not in January and all my concentration is in Anderlecht."
Premier League sides Southampton and Stoke are also interested as well as Dutch giants Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.
Onyekuru recently made his Nigeria debut, during a 1-1 draw in the World Cup qualifier with Algeria, and he is a contender to make the squad for Russia.
Everton have endured a poor start to the season and the arrival of Onyekuru could change the situation in January.
