Fiorentina Reappoints Stefano Pioli As Head Coach Following Departure From Al-Nassr

Stefano Pioli returns to Fiorentina as head coach after leaving Al-Nassr. He replaces Raffaele Palladino and aims to enhance the team's performance in Serie A.

Stefano Pioli has rejoined Fiorentina, marking his second tenure with the club after leaving Al-Nassr. The Italian manager, who previously led Fiorentina from 2017 to 2019, has signed a three-year contract. Pioli takes over from Raffaele Palladino, who departed in May shortly after extending his contract. Pioli's return to Serie A follows a year with Al-Nassr, where he secured 28 wins out of 44 matches.

Fiorentina secured sixth place in Serie A last season, earning a spot in the Conference League. Club president Rocco Commisso expressed his delight at Pioli's return, stating, "I am very happy that Stefano Pioli is the new coach of Fiorentina's first team." Commisso praised Pioli for his strong human values and dedication to the club and city.

Fiorentina Welcomes Back Stefano Pioli as Coach

During his previous stint with AC Milan from 2019 to 2024, Pioli led the team to a Scudetto victory in the 2021-22 season before moving to Saudi Arabia. His extensive experience includes managing 493 Serie A matches, achieving 217 wins and accumulating 783 points at an average of 1.59 per match.

Pioli's appointment is part of a broader trend in Serie A, where six teams from last season's top ten have changed their head coaches for the upcoming campaign. Ivan Juric has taken charge at Atalanta, while Gian Piero Gasperini has replaced Claudio Ranieri at Roma. Lazio has welcomed back Maurizio Sarri, and Massimiliano Allegri has returned for another spell at Milan.

Pioli's return brings excitement as he aims to build on Fiorentina's recent success and strengthen their position in both domestic and European competitions. His familiarity with the club and its culture is expected to be an asset as he embarks on this new chapter with Fiorentina.
