There have been several instances of footballers getting accused of infidelity. However, the vice-versa has often been caught where the wives or girlfriends ditched their football partners for other footballers.

Here we have picked up such five instances when wives or girlfriends of star footballers had an affair outside of their existing relationship.

In another well-known scandal in World football, the girlfriend of Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne, Caroline Lijnen, cheated with his team-mate Thibaut Courtois. Caroline Lijnen in an interview opened up about the incident and confirmed the infidelity. The pair later shared a relationship for a couple of years before getting separated.
