Paulo Fonseca expressed his disappointment with Milan's cautious approach in their goalless draw against Juventus. He empathised with the fans who booed the team after the match, which saw only three shots on target. Milan managed just one, while Juventus had two. The lack of goals marked the first time since October-November 2023 that Milan failed to score in consecutive home Serie A matches.
Fonseca acknowledged the fans' frustration, stating, "When you don't win, and after a match like this, maybe if I was a fan I'd do the same." He admitted understanding their reaction but emphasised the need for Milan to take more risks offensively. The team's only significant chance before halftime came from Emerson Royal's header, which missed the target.

The match was highly tactical, with both teams showing excessive respect for each other. Fonseca noted that Milan's cautious play limited their attacking opportunities. "We know that Juve defend very well," he said, highlighting the difficulty of creating chances against them. Despite having opportunities to attack, Milan failed to capitalise due to errors in decision-making.
Milan's offensive struggles were evident as they registered just two shots in the first half. This marked one of their lowest shot counts since 2004-05, with previous instances also occurring against Juventus. Fonseca stressed that taking risks is crucial if they want to score goals and improve their performance.
Despite sitting seventh in Serie A with 19 points and a game in hand, Fonseca remains optimistic about Milan's title chances. When asked about their prospects, he replied confidently: "It's difficult for other people, but I still believe." He pointed out that there are many games left and other teams could drop points.
Fonseca concluded by urging his team to be bolder in attack and improve their final decisions. He believes that by taking more offensive risks, Milan can create better scoring opportunities and enhance their chances of success in future matches.
