The new edition of Football Manager i.e. the FM 2024 is here and it’s absolutely wonderful. If you have not tried it yet, give it a try. If you have bought the game and are unsure about which team to manage, we have you covered.

In this article, we will help you pick your starting team if you are new to the game. It’s better to pick a stronger side as a beginner and eventually try the game with weaker sides which is more exciting to be fair. Here we will pick five clubs which are easier to start with.

FM 2024: Pick your favourite club

If you are unsure of which club to start your savings with, you can choose your favourite club because you will have more passion for the club you support. Football Manager can seem boring for some early on but that risk is minimized if you pick your favourite club.

FM 2024: Liverpool

In recent years, Liverpool have been arguably the best team in FM in terms of tactical flexibility and adaptability. The Reds have the players to suit various kinds of systems and are excellent if one plays gegenpressing style of football which brings the best of both worlds tactically.

After a midfield rebuild last summer, they also have a pretty young core of squad with some quality youngsters available who are going to be fun developing. So, Liverpool would be a great pick for beginners.

FM 2024: Manchester City

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are evidently the best team in the world right now. Quite naturally, they would be an excellent pick for beginners. With the talent at your disposal, you can replicate the Cityzens’ success in the game as well if you make your moves right. With beasts like Haaland and De Bruyne at your disposal, they are almost invincible and can become boring after a while though.

FM 2024: Leeds United

After more than a decade in the Championship, Leeds got themselves promoted to the Premier League in 2020 but were again demoted last time out. Now they have to go back to square one and earn promotion once again. Starting a save with Leeds will be a lot of fun and with the quality of players available, an automatic promotion should be achievable.

FM 2024: Barcelona

After a few years of struggle, Barcelona are back to where they belong and won the La Liga last season. The team is blessed with wonderkids all over the place. A save with Barcelona would be quite interesting especially because of the young players at their disposal. You can start another dynasty at Camp Nou.
