Former Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has reportedly been offered a lucrative contract by Greek side AEK Athens.
This deal would make him the highest-paid player in the club's history. This move comes after Martial departs from Old Trafford, where he spent eight years, scoring 90 goals in 317 appearances.

Despite his once-promising career, Martial's last few seasons at United were marred by poor form and persistent injuries, leading the club to not renew his contract. Now a free agent at 28, Martial finds himself at a crucial juncture in his career, with fewer suitors than expected for a player of his caliber.
Earlier in the summer, reports were linking Martial with a return to Ligue 1, specifically to Lille. However, Lille's president, Olivier Letang, publicly ruled out a move for the former United attacker, leaving Martial's future in limbo.
AEK Athens, however, appear determined to secure Martial's signature. The Greek giants have reportedly offered him the most lucrative contract in their 100-year history, surpassing the deal currently held by Erik Lamela, who earns £2.1 million per year, equivalent to a weekly wage of approximately £40,000.
While Martial's previous earnings at Manchester United were significantly higher-reportedly around £250,000 per week-it is unlikely that AEK Athens will match that figure. However, the club is prepared to stretch its financial limits to bring in a player who once dazzled Premier League audiences.
Should Martial accept AEK's offer, he would follow in the footsteps of his former United teammate Facundo Pellistri, who recently joined another Greek side, Panathinaikos. For Martial, this move could represent a fresh start in a league that might better suit his current stage in life and career.
