Former President Sepp Blatter considering legal action against FIFA

London, Feb 2: Disgraced former FIFA president Sepp Blatter has declared that he is considering legal action against his former employee.

The 81-year-old served FIFA for 17 years, however, is currently serving a ban from the sport and now in an attempt to clear his name from the allegation is working on a potential case.

The veteran was suspended for ethics violations, imposed amid the corruption scandal in 2015, the biggest corruption scandal to shake world soccer's governing body.

There were allegations that several football officials, including some FIFA executive committee members and former members, had been charged in the United States on corruption charges, along with two sports marketing firms which saw Blatter resigned from the post.

Blatter was not charged on the same matter however later further reports come to the light which indicated that the former FIFA President authorised payments to Michel Platini, then the European football boss, worth over $2million that amounted to "undue gifts'' which is against FIFA's code of ethics.

The accused were banned, initially for eight years, over the amount of 2 million Swiss francs but the bans were later reduced to six years by FIFA's appeals committee in February 2016.

However, Blatter now has suggested for the time being he and his lawyers are discussing a legal action over the charges and will soon proceed with a case regarding this matter to probe his probity.

In an email to Reuters, Blatter said: "My aim is to look into the decision of FIFA's Ethic-Committee in view of information, and even evidence that I have received, in the meantime, in connection with my suspension.

"We are working on this case and looking forward for development."

Blatter earlier also lodged an appeal against the charges but lost it in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the suspension in December 2016.
