Former Real Madrid manager provides stern warning to Kylian Mbappe

Former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello has issued a clear warning to Kylian Mbappe, reminding the French superstar that joining Los Blancos means committing to the same work ethic as everyone else at the club.

Mbappe completed a high-profile free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to Real Madrid in the summer, bringing an end to a long-running transfer saga.

Despite the fanfare surrounding his arrival, Mbappe struggled to make an immediate impact in his first few games but has since found his footing, scoring six goals in his last eight appearances.

However, recent injuries have hampered his fitness, forcing him to miss key matches, including being omitted from France’s UEFA Nations League squad by manager Didier Deschamps.

The 2018 World Cup winner has faced criticism in the past for his perceived attitude and demands for special treatment, often raising questions about his behavior off the pitch.

One notable incident involved Mbappe being spotted at a nightclub before France’s match against Belgium, a game he opted not to play. This added fuel to the debate around his commitment and professionalism.

Fabio Capello, a respected figure in world football and a two-time La Liga-winning manager with Real Madrid, has weighed in on the Mbappe situation. Capello, who managed the Spanish giants in 1996-97 and again in 2006-07, is intimately familiar with the club’s culture and the expectations placed on all players who don the iconic white jersey.

Speaking to TMW, Capello highlighted that no player, regardless of star power, is exempt from hard work at Real Madrid.

“When a big star goes to Real Madrid, he has to understand he must work like any other player. At Real Madrid, there’s not one star, but many,” Capello said.

Despite his concerns, Capello expressed confidence in current Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti to handle the situation.

Ancelotti, known for his ability to manage big personalities, is likely to mitigate any potential issues involving Mbappe.

“I think Carlo Ancelotti needs time, but he knows a lot of things. Soon, Carlo will find the right balance to achieve victories,” Capello added.

Real Madrid will return to action after the international break with a La Liga fixture against Celta Vigo on October 19. Mbappe is expected to be fit and available for selection, with hopes high that he will continue his recent run of form.
