Adrien Rabiot expressed that France's recent victory over Italy truly showcased the team's potential. The win secured their top position in Nations League Group A2. Rabiot scored twice, both from Lucas Digne's precise crosses, with his second goal ensuring a crucial two-goal lead. This triumph followed a goalless draw against Israel, which had been frustrating for the team.
The victory was significant as it avenged France's earlier 3-1 loss to Italy at home. Rabiot mentioned that this previous defeat was on their minds as they prepared for the match at San Siro. "It's been a long time since we've played a match like this," he told TF1. "We also had the objective of winning with a two-goal difference, we did it." He highlighted the team's unity and fighting spirit during the game.

Lucas Digne played a pivotal role in France's success, officially assisting twice and contributing to another goal. His free-kick hit the crossbar before deflecting off Guglielmo Vicario into the net. This marked the first time since 1991 that France scored three goals from set-pieces in a single match, reminiscent of their performance against Albania.
Digne emphasised the importance of practising set-pieces during training sessions. "The more you do, the more automatic it becomes," he noted. Despite being pleased with their offensive display, Digne admitted he would have preferred a clean sheet as a defender. Nonetheless, finishing first in their group was an excellent achievement for France.
The French team is now looking forward to the Nations League quarter-finals scheduled for March. Their recent performances indicate they have moved past their disappointing Euro 2024 campaign, where they struggled to score consistently.
Rabiot hopes that this performance reflects the true identity of the French team moving forward. He stated, "I hope we will continue to show this face." The players are determined to demonstrate that wearing the national jersey is something they hold dear.
